Just picked up a set of unused R888s mounted and balanced on OEM '96 M-Edition wheels for $250. NICE PRICE.

Too bad the R888 is such a shitty tire compared to the RA-1 and other DOT R-comps.

For a tire with with a narrow slip angle toleration, its ultimate grip leaves a ton to be desired at its level.'

Sell them and get something that's actually half decent

I may end up flipping them (since they aren't legal for STR) but it was too good of a deal to pass up

Did they burn your hands when you touched them?

I use R888s for autocross tires and have no issues with them. They even work really well in the wet. What's all the hate based on? I thought they were the same rubber compound as NT01s and everybody loves those.
